Mail for Mac OS X 10.4 First Time Set Up

Follow the steps below to set up Mail for Mac OS X 10.4 for the first time.
  1. Open Mail.

  2. Click the Continue button.

  3. Click the Account Type popup menu and select POP.

  4. In the Account Description field, type your email address (e.g. johndoe@yourdomain.com).

  5. In the Full Name field, type your name.

  6. In the Email Address field, type your email address (e.g. johndoe@yourdomain.com).

  7. Click the Continue button.

  8. In the Incoming Mail Server field, type mail.yourdomain.com.

  9. In the User Name field, type your email address (e.g. johndoe@yourdomain.com).

  10. In the Password field, type your account password.

  11. Click the Continue button.

    Note: Mail will now attempt to contact the POP3 server, if you are not connected to the Internet, click Continue to the next screen.

  12. In the Outgoing Mail Server field, type mail.yourdomain.com.

  13. Place a check in the box next to the left of Use Authentication.

  14. In the User Name field, type your email address (e.g. johndoe@yourdomain.com).

  15. In the Password field, type your account password.

  16. Click the Continue button.

    Note: Mail will now attempt to contact the SMTP server, if you are not connected to the Internet, click Continue to the next screen.


  17. Click the Continue button.
